Lake Felixsee Observation Tower
A 36 metres tall observation tower is located on the lakeshore of Felixsee near Bohsdorf and in the heart of the UNESCO Global Geopark Muskauer Faltenbogen. The tower consists of a wood and steel structure and it was opened on October 16, 2004 (about 6.5 months after the foundation stone had bee laid). Construction cost about Euro 360,000. There are three platforms at heights of 4.5, 7.5 and 30 metres (191 metres above sea level). On the first two platforms there are various information panels about the region and its geological history.
Admission is free and anyone is welcome to climb the 160 steps leading up to the top platform 30 metres above the ground that allows for stunning views. Free parking is available nearby. Access by bicycle is also very convenient, thanks to the many well-developed cycle paths in the area.
