Jakubzburg Mortka
A castle that looks just like a medieval one? In the little town of Mortka, you can see a medieval castle that has been designed, planned and built in the 21st century. But not only that. You can also have brilliant parties and spend the night here. The Jakubzburg is unique throughout Europe. The quaint interior and the romantic atmosphere of this impressive castle complex fit perfectly into the picturesque landscape. The castle was recreated from an old example built in Hoyerswerda in 1327.
The castle opens its gates to visitors for special events. The complex then comes alive as a backdrop for plays, concerts and colourful celebrations. At the weekends, visitors can enjoy the medieval flair of the Castle Café.
Guided tours of the castle for all ages (minimum group size: 10) are available if booked in advance via the provider’s website.
The complex is also available for overnight stays in the rustically furnished rooms or for private celebrations.
