Lohnteich Tschernitz Natural Bathing Area
On some days the surface of the Lohnteich (also called Lake Tschernitz See) appears as smooth as glass before swimmers. A pontoon extends far into the lake, allowing them to dive head-first into the cool water. The 6.3-hectare lake was formerly the site of a surface mine, and due to its clear water has been used as a bathing lake since it was created.
The well-kept natural bathing area has very good infrastructure, including a spacious sunbathing lawn and a beach volleyball field, a table-tennis table, eateries and toilets. The shore is gently sloping and child-friendly with a separate non-swimmer area. There is a free-of-charge car park.
