IBA Terraces - Visitor Centre
The IBA Terraces: minimalist architecture consisting of three building cubes connected by terraces, modern in design and a reflection of the connection between nature, culture and mining in the region. They are nestled between the pier built from a former open-cast mine, a landscaped vineyard and the Victoriahöhe vantage point.
In the visitor centre in House 1, a "12 Questions - 12 Answers" exhibition tells the story of the past and the future. Großräschen's mining and clinker tradition, buildings that have been saved, from the Ilse-Ledigenheim to the Seehotel, from the open-cast large-scale equipment repair site to the harbour, from the former open-cast mine slope to the vineyard, planning of new residential areas. Visitors can discover all this and more in the exhibition.
A bistro invites visitors to linger above the vineyard. From here, visitors can enjoy a beautiful view over Lake Großräschen.
